After this exciting day you will come back to the camp where you can relax with a cold drink on your veranda with a view of the Mara river!

Day 5: To Amboseli N.P.

After breakfast you will go to Amboseli National Park via Nairobi. The view of Mt. Kilimanjaro compensates for the dusty safari through the magnificent landscapes of Africa.

On arrival you will have lunch and then it is time for your first game drive in Amboseli national park. Amboseli’s fragile ecosystem displays an impressive wildlife variety, with more than 50 mammal species. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants among other wildlife species like Thomson’s and Grants gazelles, buffalo, warthog, Maasai giraffe, impala, water buck and dik-dikthe views of the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro are stunning

The coming two nights you will spend at the semi-luxury Kibo Safari camp. The spacious tents have custom designed beds and locally made using bush logs and will ensure a good night’s sleep! All tents have flush toilets, showers, and wash basins.

Day 6: Full day game drives in Amboseli N.P.

In the early morning hours, the view of Mt. Kilimanjaro is usually the best and that is when you will start your safari to take breathtaking pictures of the landscape and animals. Today you will have a full day of game drives in Amboseli National park.

After the animal encounters of today you will go back to the camp in the late afternoon where you can relax or take a dip in the swimming pool.

Day 7: Welcome to Tanzania!

In the early morning you will do a game drive on your way out of Amboseli N.P. Then it is time to say goodbye to Kenya and go to Tanzania!

Nn the other side of Namanga border your Tanzanian guide will be waiting to transfer you to Ilboru Safari Lodge; a pleasant lodge with a beautiful garden and swimming pool.

Harmoniously woven into the surrounding African landscape, Ilboru Safari Lodge rests at the base of the majestic Mt. Meru.

Depending on your time of arrival you can do an optional activity organized by the lodge.

Day 8A: Lake Manyara N.P.

Today, after an early breakfast, you will be travelling to the first national park of this trip: Lake Manyara National Park.

On arrival you will stretch your legs during a 2 to 3-hour village walk in cozy ‘Mto Wa Mbu’. Here you will meet the local community, taste homemade banana beer, learn about the Makonde woodcarvings and listen to your guide who will tell you everything about the way of living in this village.
After the village walk, you will have a local lunch. Together with the highly respected Miss Bibi you prepare a delicious Swahili meal.

In the afternoon you enter Lake Manyara National Park. This is a small but very beautiful park offering breathtaking views, excellent game viewing and an incredible array of birdlife. You have a chance to spot zebra, baboon, warthog, giraffe, impala, elephant, hippo, wildebeest and the rare tree climbing lion.

Your accommodation for tonight is Manyara Wildlife Safari Camp. Take a refreshing dip in the inviting outdoor pool and enjoy the fantastic sunset with a cold drink on the veranda!

Day 8B: Tarangire National Park

Today, after an early breakfast, you will be traveling to the first national park of this trip; Tarangire National Park. The game drive can begin!

Tarangire is best known for its many gigantic baobab trees and its large herds of elephants; it is a home to approximately 2,500 individuals and large herds are regularly viewed. You can also spot many different animals like leopard, zebra, impala, warthog, eland, buffalo, waterbuck and lion. Also the birders will have so much to see; more than 500 different bird-species are present.

This park hosts the biggest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti. It is also the only place in Tanzania where the oryx and gerenuk are regularly spotted.

Your driver/guide will have a lunch-box for you so you can picnic at a beautiful spot in the park after which your safari continues. At the end of the safari you head for Sangaiwe Tented Lodge where you will spend the night.

Day 9: The Serengeti

After breakfast, you depart for the most famous safari park in the world: Serengeti National Park.

The Serengeti hosts the most extensive population of wild animals on earth and has a complex and untouched ecosystem. Serengeti means “endless plains” in the language of the Maasai, a description that the Serengeti completely lives up to. These endless plains have to be experienced to be fully appreciated!

You visit the heart of the Serengeti, Seronera Valley. This valley might be termed as the ‘classic’ Serengeti; short grass plains with all different kind of wild animals ranging from the impressive lion to the naughty mongoose. From the park entrance you game drive towards your accommodation for tonight.

After the incredible impressions of the Serengeti, you’ll have your overnight at Tortilis Camp where each safari-tent has an en-suite bathroom, modern furnishings and a private verandah.

Tonight you can share your Serengeti experiences around the campfire!

Day 10: Game drives in Serengeti National Park

Early in the morning you leave the camp for a full day safari! Most of the national park is open and grassy. Ultimately, the success of any safari lies in the number and quality of encounters with big cats. There are thousands of lions in the Serengeti and you have a fair chance to see cheetahs, although they are difficult to spot. And when it comes to leopards, the Serengeti rarely disappoints!

We will find you a nice picnic spot to enjoy your packed lunch and then you slowly continue your safari back to Tortilis Camp.

Keep your eyes open since you still have chances to see all kinds of animals roaming the plains, hidden behind bushes or resting in a tree. You never know when and were exactly you will spot wildlife.

Back at the lodge you will have an excellent dinner and some time to relax.

Day 11: Game drives in Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater

Today you enjoy a long game drive on your way out of the beautiful Serengeti and continue to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

In the afternoon, you will have a game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater!
As an UNESCO World Heritage Site the crater offers a unique biosphere which has remained virtually unchanged since the dawn of time. There are very few places in the world where you can find such a large population of wildlife throughout the year.

Deep within the crater, enclosed by towering walls, you have a good chance of spotting ‘The Big 5’: Lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. For the latter two you need a bit of luck as they tend to shy away. Approximately 30 000 animals live on the crater floor!

After this great experience, you drive to Country Lodge Karatu to enjoy dinner and an en-suite fireplace.

Day 12: Departure
Depending on the time your flight departs, there might be some time left today to do some optional activities in Arusha town at your own expense.

The driver/guide will take care of your transfer to Kilimanjaro airport. This is only possible for flights after 3 PM. If you need an extra night in Arusha please let us know.

This is the end of a wonderful tour through Kenya & Tanzania!
